Hi!

My name is Ashley

founder and owner of Nassau for Nature.

I was raised on the rural west side of the county, and have lived in Nassau the majority of my life. I grew up on a farm and developed a deep love for nature and the outdoors as a child. I went to school for wildlife ecology and conservation and graduated from the University of Florida with an even greater desire to be in nature with plants and animals. When I came home from school in 2013, I quickly noticed a change in my small rural county, it had grown significantly, with plans for even more change in the near future. With the approval for the expansion of A1A and many large-scale subdivisions throughout the county, I decided to start a group to educate the residents of Nassau County about the native habitats, ecosystems, and wildlife that occur in our area, and how we can do our part to help conserve what we had left.

Florida gains around 1000 new residents a day, and what was once a small country county where everyone seemed to know everyone, had rapidly become overdeveloped. After working with Florida Fish and Wildlife as a biologist in marine fisheries for almost 10 years, I decided it was time to expand the non-profit. So, I started Nassau for Nature design and landscaping, to provide residents in the county with easy to maintain Florida native ecoscapes that are beneficial to both the client and native wildlife.

Nassau for Nature focuses on restoring native habitats by practicing sustainable Florida-Friendly Landscaping techniques and land stewardship, creating low maintenance ecoscapes that are beneficial to both the client and native environment.

Nassau for Nature offers consultations

with a site assessment to determine the right plant for the right place, and educate the client on Florida friendly plants best suited for them. We offer a diverse range of Florida native plants that not only provides the homeowner with a unique eye-catching landscape, but also attracts local pollinators like birds, bees, and butterflies.

Nassau for Nature has over 10 years of experience working with Florida native plants. With 20 hours of college credits in plant sciences, along with continuing education, including Master Gardener certification from University of Florida IFAS, you can be sure that Nassau for Nature will provide you with plants that suit your landscaping needs.
