Site Assessment

‘Right Plant, Right Place’ is part of Florida Friendly Landscaping, and ensures we are choosing plants best suited for your space. We will assess soil type, light and water requirements, and goals for your landscaping project. By using plants that are native to your soil and habitat type, you will save money on water because once established, your plants will not need watering except during prolonged periods of drought. Your native plants will not need to be fertilized and in fact, some may even die if given fertilizer. Florida natives are low maintenance plants that enhance the beauty of your landscape while also creating wildlife corridors and healthy ecosystems.

Design

Designs are typically done after a site assessment is performed. If you are unsure of how to design or layout your native plants in the landscape, we can provide you with a sketch drawn to scale on trace paper. The plant varieties are color coded, numbered, and listed for easy identification. This service can be purchased with a site assessment alone or as part of an installation package.

Installations

We only offer and install Florida natives and a select group of Florida friendly plants.

Flower Beds- The sky’s the limit on designs, so we will find something to fit your project needs
Butterfly and Bird

Gardens- If you want to see butterflies and birds in your yard, plant for insects

Rain Gardens- Make use of your downspouts or low areas in your yard that puddle by creating a rain garden

Meadows- Replace part of your lawn/turf with a meadow of native grasses and wildflowers

Food Forest- We can help create your own walk through fruit garden or forest

Low Volume Irrigation- We only install drip tubing, drip emitters, and micro sprinklers

Hardscapes- We can create pathways, borders, sitting spaces, etc

Mulching- Just need an area mulched, we can do that too! But only with Florida friendly pine straw or pine bark, or oak leaves. We do not use cypress mulch or rubber mulch.

Plant Sales

Nassau for Nature only offers Florida natives and a select group of Florida friendly plants, approved by the University of Florida IFAS extension. Delivery services are available.

Maintenance

Using the 9 principles of Florida Friendly Landscaping, we will help you keep your space looking just how you like it. We provide weed removal, trimming, lawn/turf removal, and mulching. We only use native mulch like pine needles, pine bark, and oak leaves.
